Vibration sensor monitors drives

The CMVT-M8T single-axis condition monitoring sensor from TURCK enables efficient vibration monitoring and is easy to install and retrofit

Sensors, Condition Monitoring Sensors, Condition Monitoring

Benefits

  • Simple mounting thanks to M8 screw-in thread
  • High scalability thanks to adjustable frequency range
  • Ideal for new equipment and retrofitting of existing machines
  • Machine monitoring without any control integration thanks to internal data pre-processing

TURCK's CMVT-M8T in a compact stainless steel housing monitors the condition of motors and drives via vibration measurement. With single-axis measurement, simple mounting in the service hole via M8 screw-in thread including mounting adapter up to M30, and three selectable output signals, the sensor promises precise vibration monitoring with minimal installation effort.

Flexible integration saves costs

The CMVT-M8T detects vibrations along an axis and is suitable for typical applications on drives, pumps or fans where the main vibration direction is orthogonal to the rotational axis. With IO-Link, PNP switching and 4...20 mA analog outputs, the condition monitoring sensor can be used universally and thus effectively reduces storage costs. The measuring accuracy is ±0.5 % at 159.2 Hz. In addition to RMS values, the sensor also provides peak values of the acceleration.

Autonomous monitoring made easy

The device can also be commissioned without a control connection via the "Vibration Monitor" app in the TURCK Automation Suite (TAS) or an IO-Link master with web server. In combination with a warning light, self-sufficient condition monitoring systems can be set up without a control system, which is particularly useful in existing plants. The sensor draws on ISO standard 10816-3 for entering the critical vibration values.

Condition monitoring sensor range

The new 1-axis sensor is the fourth sensor type that TURCK has developed specifically for easy-to-use and retrofittable condition monitoring applications. It complements the existing range of CMVT-QR20 3-axis vibration/temperature sensors, the CMMT magnetic field/temperature sensor, and the CMTH for humidity and temperature measurements.
