Capacitive Sensors

Capacitive sensors detect objects and fill levels without physical contact. An electric field at the active sensor surface changes its capacitance when an object approaches, thereby triggering a switching signal—regardless of the object’s shape, color, or transparency. Whether it’s plastic, powder, granules, or liquid: robust designs, simple setup, and compensation for environmental influences increase process reliability.

Sensors, Capacitive Sensors

TURCK's capacitive sensors detect liquids, powders, granules, and solid materials regardless of color, shape, or transparency. The product portfolio ranges from smart BC/UC sensors with IO-Link and TAS-based parameterization, teach-in, and diagnostics to standard cylindrical designs and compact rectangular solutions for tight installation spaces and special applications. Robust compensation functions and wear-free detection stabilize processes in the presence of moisture, buildup, or changing media. Users benefit from reliable presence, limit level, and fill level monitoring in machinery, packaging, food and beverage, and process automation.

Our portfolio of capacitive sensors stands out for:

  • Broad media portfolio: Detecting liquids, powders, granules, and solid materials through non-metallic walls
  • Flexible designs: smart BC/UC IO-Link devices, standard cylindrical sensors, and compact rectangular variants for a variety of installation scenarios
  • TAS for BC/UC devices: Teach Monitor and software-based parameterization simplify teach-in, diagnostics, and the use of device functions
  • Reliable processes: Compensation functions reduce false triggering caused by moisture, buildup, or changing media
