Challenge
When adhesive is automatically applied to vehicle windows, it must be ensured that the viscosity of the adhesive remains optimal. Temperature and pressure fluctuations can lead to faulty adhesive seam patterns and insufficient adhesion. Precise monitoring of these parameters is essential to ensure process reliability and consistently high quality.
Solution
TURCK's IO-Link-capable PS+ and TS+ sensors ensure reliable adhesive application by precisely monitoring temperature and pressure. TS+ temperature sensors ensure that the adhesive always has the optimum viscosity. Warmed adhesive containers enable constant processing, while sensors detect temperature and report it to the controller.
PS+ pressure sensors with flush-mounted membranes prevent blockages caused by adhesive residues and detect pressure deviations at an early stage. Changes in pressure may indicate blocked nozzles or bent lines. The combination of temperature and pressure monitoring provides a cost-effective alternative to expensive Coriolis mass-flow meters for viscous media.
Seamless IO-Link integration transfers all measured values to the controller in real time. This ensures that the adhesive consistency remains stable, the adhesive robot always applies the right amount and process quality is ensured — for maximum system availability and the highest adhesive quality.
