Dynamic inclinometers with switching output

Turck's inclinometers with merged MEMS and gyroscope signal for moving applications are now available with a switching output

Sensors, Inclinometers

Benefits

  • Fast commissioning thanks to simple switching outputs

  • Easy to install thanks to the "spirit level function"

  • High availability thanks to shock resistance up to 200 g and IP69K protection class

  • Enables higher clock rates thanks to dynamic inclination signal

  • Cost benefits thanks to the absence of shielded cables and analog inputs as well as IO-Link ports

Turck's QR20 inclinometer generates its signal from the fusion of two measuring principles: a gyroscope signal and a MEMS acceleration measurement (Micro-Electro- Mechanical System). The sensors therefore combine the benefits of both measuring principles. The QR20 suppresses shocks and vibrations much more effectively than devices with conventional signal filters. At the same time, the B1NF and B2NF single- and two-axis inclinometers achieve a dynamic range unlike anything previously possible for moving applications or vibrating machines.

The new QR20 variants switch when a threshold value or a switching window is reached. Two switching windows can be parameterized and used in NO or NC mode. The QR20 with switching outputs is particularly suitable for use where a simple switching signal in PNP or NPN logic is sufficient when a certain inclination angle is reached and the inclination would be too large to detect via measurement.

LED spirit level makes commissioning simpler

The "spirit level function" makes it easier to assemble the devices. An LED uses a flashing frequency to indicate when the sensor is positioned horizontally. This allows the sensor to be mounted in a safe and fault-free manner without the need for accessories. The use of translucent plastics for the LED display removes the need for LED lenses, which can be a potential weak point in the housing.

The devices are also suitable for positioning and lifting applications. TURCK complements its existing portfolio of four IO-Link inclination sensors with four additional devices: the single-axis B1N and the two-axis B2N for static applications and the corresponding B1NF and B2NF for dynamic applications.
