With its new M12Plus connectors, TURCK is shifting the condition monitoring of highly stressed cables directly to the connection technology. Equipped with voltage- and current-monitoring electronics and a Bluetooth chip, the connectors can wirelessly transmit measured voltage and current values to a control system.   

Early problem detection and rapid response measures  

By comparing input and output values, problems such as cable kinks, cable breaks or a power supply failure can be detected at an early stage. Thanks to the individual MAC address of each connector, the user can directly and proactively identify a cable at risk of failure and replace it immediately. Using the cable monitor app, the TURCK Automation Suite (TAS) visualizes the measured values from the M12Plus to facilitate condition monitoring and other IIoT applications.

Optimized for drag chains and robotics  

In its current version, the M12Plus comes with a four-wire cable (4 × 0.34 mm²) from the TXL product series with a robust polyurethane outer jacket, specially designed for use in drag chains. A-coded M12Plus connectors are attached to both ends of the cable. The measured values are transmitted to the data interface via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The maximum range is 40 m indoors and up to 100 m outdoors. When screwed together, the M12Plus achieves protection class IP69K and is characterized by its resistance to chemicals and oil. It is flame-retardant, weld spark-resistant and particularly abrasion-resistant.
