Challange
The traceability of chemicals in big bags must be ensured in order to comply with legal regulations such as GMP, FEEM, or EU Directive 2008/43/EC. Manual and inconsistent processes can lead to errors and jeopardize supply chain transparency. A system is needed that enables contactless, reliable identification of the origin and contents of the big bags while virtually eliminating human error.
Solution
At the end of each production line, big bags are tagged with RFID tags and directly labeled with information about the bag's contents and production batch. The data carriers enable contactless identification – even without visual contact. At the same time, commercial vehicles such as wheel loaders, forklifts, and tractors are equipped with RFID readers and wireless data connections. Using smart algorithms, the system recognizes which big bags are currently being transported on the forklift. The big bags are also identified during loading, so that correct shipping is fully documented and verified.
Thanks to documentation based on RFID data, the production and shipping of chemicals comply with all legal requirements and offer maximum transparency along the entire supply chain – from production to the end customer.
