Combined vibration/temperature sensor with IO-Link

TURCK's CMVT sensor evaluates vibration and temperature data internally, enabling easy retrofitting of condition monitoring in existing plants.

Sensors, Condition Monitoring Sensors

Benefits

  • Maintenance- and wear-free
  • Machine monitoring without any control integration thanks to internal data preprocessing
  • Ideal for new equipment and retrofitting of existing machines

TURCK is expanding its product portfolio with the CMVT, a robust vibration sensor with integrated temperature detection for condition monitoring applications. Vibration and temperature are the key parameters for early detection of machine defects caused, for example, by imbalances in rotating parts. The CMVT detects vibrations across three axes and evaluates them internally. If the set limit values are exceeded, it issues a warning message directly — either via IO-Link or as a switching signal.

Easy to use via IO-Link master

The switching output, in particular, is well suited for setting up retrofit and stand-alone applications as it can be used directly as a trigger for a signal light — without integration into existing control systems. The commissioning of the sensor is facilitated by the TURCK vibration monitor. The tool visualizes vibration and temperature data live in any web browser and can be easily used via any TURCK IO-Link master without any additional software. IO-Link can also be used to output additional information, such as operating hours, and transfer it to cloud systems.

Simplified condition monitoring

The sensor records accelerations in g and vibration velocity in mm/s across a wide frequency band. Smart preprocessing of the sensor data also allows direct output of peak-to-peak values or effective values for acceleration and velocity. The CMVT outputs threshold values in accordance with ISO 10816-3, which greatly simplifies standard-compliant condition monitoring.
