Radar sensors for short range and long distance up to 30 m
TURCK's DR distance radar sensors with special lenses expand the range of applications to include object detection in both the far and near range.
Benefits
- Better sensor performance thanks to optimized physical signal, which eliminates the need for software filters for suppression
- Quick and convenient commissioning via TAS (TURCK Automation Suite)
TURCK is adding two new variants to its DR radar sensor series: the DR30N for precise long-distance detection and the DR7.5WE for wide close-range monitoring. Retroreflectors are also available, so-called corner cubes, which improve the signal quality in demanding applications. The new sensor variants are ideal for detecting ships and crane systems in port logistics or for vehicle detection and collision protection.
High range up to 30 m or wide detection field
The DR30N offers a range of up to 30 m and a spherical beam shape of ±2.5°. This makes it particularly suitable for precise detection over long distances, for example for monitoring storage locations or for distance control. In contrast, the DR7.5WE, with its ellipsoidal beam form of ±22.5° to ±7.5° and a range of up to 7.5 meters, enables wide-area monitoring. With these properties, the sensor is particularly suitable for collision avoidance, conveyor technology, and pallet detection applications.
Simple parameterization via radar monitor in TAS
Like the established DR15S variant, all sensors are designed in a robust M30 metal housing with IP67 protection and offer either IO-Link or switching outputs. Users can parameterize them conveniently via the visualization and simple drop-down fields in the radar monitor in the TURCK Automation Suite TAS.
